God is Omnipotent (All-Powerful)

God is able to do all possible things.

Able to do all possible things.

All possible things…

God’s Almighty power is often misunderstood by people from all walks of life, classes and different groups from within human society.

Everywhere cross-culturally around the world religions, theologies, philosophies and traditions have claimed the superiority of their highest ranking deity above all others.

They all believe in the All-Powerful capabilities of their own personal god in question.

Whether they worship Brahman, Christ, Krishna, Allah or Ahura Mazda; they all believe that the deity enjoys full divine Omnipotency.

However God’s Omnipotence has been a matter of debate for thousands of years, and yet barely anyone outside of the realm of philosophy and theology understands what the word “Almighty”, truly signifies.

It is so easily accepted on the tongue, yet completely misunderstood by the heart.

What it in actuality means is that God, the Divine, Spirit, the Universal Mind or whatever you want to call it; controls all things conceivable.

Whatever is inconceivable and logically unable, against natural law, is not what is meant by the word “almighty”.

What most people conceive of as Omnipotency is nothing but Absurdity.

For example the most famous religious question of all times, proves this exact point:

“If there is a God, why does He allow evil?”

Upon which I say, If there was no Free Will, would there be evil to begin with?

There wouldn’t because God could have molded every single human being into a saint.

But we’re not artificially intelligent beings are we?

We’re real intelligence and therefore we have the capability to independent thought and reason, which results in either good or bad effects in the world.

Wherever there is the possibility for free will and thought, evil can enter, this is a fact of nature and it happens everywhere in the Universe.

So in fact, God does not allow evil whatsoever, he allows free-will which we all so greatly appreciate.

I rather live with the free will and therefore the capacity to accept or reject evil, instead of being enslaved in consciousness.

God allows free-will but wherever His consciousness descends, God has done anything and everything to combat the influences of negative energy.

यदा यदा हि धर्मस्य ग्लानिर्भवति भारत |
अभ्युत्थानमधर्मस्य तदात्मानं सृजाम्यहम् ॥7॥

“Whenever there is a decline in righteousness and an increase in unrighteousness, at that time I manifest myself on earth.”

– Krishna, Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 4, Verse 7

Didn’t He flood the Earth with Prophets? Then where do all those religions come from?

Didn’t he sent Angels with revelations? Then where do all these holy scriptures come from?

Didn’t he inspire mankind to talk of miracles and holiness all the time throughout it’s history?

Are God’s people not still preaching on street corners in every major city across the world?

Whether you talk to Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons, Evangelists, Buddhist monks, Hare Krishna’s, Sufi’s, Sikh’s, Rastafari’s or whomever.

They are all God’s people imbued with God’s Divine Powers of Inspiration to preach the Divine Word.

They all feel driven to preach their faith to others, but what drives them?

What drives everything in the Universe to do anything? What is striving this endless cycle of evolution forward?

God’s Omnipotence.

The Almighty-ness of God.

He is so actively involved in inspiring His creation that it often seems to us as if nothing is happening from His part at all, but this is a stupid way of thinking.

Even 99% of religious people think like this, they assume that God barely does anything at all in their lives unless they beg Him for it with utmost passion and ritual materialism.

Meanwhile, God in His Almighty Nature, literally does almost EVERYTHING and we barely do ANYTHING.

Tell us, how many times have you caused your heart to beat for the last few minutes?

Did you have to consciously keep it beating in order to stay alive? No, your heart beats all by itself.

If we approach it from this way, we’ll realize that 99% of what goes on in our biological structure is not controlled whatsoever by anything we ourselves do.

Our bodies function automatically, you only have to keep it vital through the consumption of nutrients, physical motion and sufficient rest.

That’s all you have to do, to stay alive.

This is the Might of God my friends.

He regulates all cells in the Universe and imbues them with His own essence, which is pure consciousness and dynamic power.

Like the famous Indian monk Swami Vivekananda said during one of his trips to the West:

“Ishvara (God) is the sum total of individuals, yet He is an Individual, as the human body is a unit, of which each cell is an individual. The existence of Ishvara, therefore, depends on that of Jiva (the soul), as the body on the cell, and vice versa. Thus, Jiva and Ishvara are coexistent beings; when one exists, the other must. Also, because, except on our earth, in all the higher spheres, the amount of good being vastly in excess of the amount of evil, the sum total (Ishvara) may be said to be all-good. Omnipotence and omniscience are obvious qualities and need no argument to prove from the very fact of totality.”

– The Complete works of Swami Vivekananda: Volume 5, Ishvara and Brahman

God is the totality of all power, intelligence, spirit and consciousness in this Universe, therefore his Omnipotence, needs no explanation because everything that is in some way related to existence, exists within Him.

It is like asking if the woman that gave you birth, really is your mother…

It is a nonsensical thing to question, of course she is your mother!

In the same way the source of all existence, MUST have power over it all.

But power does not mean doing things that belong in the realm of absurdity.

This has been discussed by theologians from all ages and walks of life throughout history, however the argument is almost always the same.

Because it is a sane argument.

It shows the Active Divine Reason that is operating constantly through all religious personalities worldwide.

If you don’t understand what I’m saying right now, then allow me to bring in another expert from the remote past of Indian Philosophical History.

Swami Dayananda Saraswati the founder of the Arya Samaj (Vedic Hindu reform movement) explained God’s Omnipotence in the following Question&Answer session:

Q: Is God, All-Powerful, or not?

A: Yes, He is, but what you understand by the word All-Powerful is not right. It really means that God does not require the least assistance from any person in all. His works such as Creation, Sustenance and Dissolution of the Universe, and administration of Divine Justice. In other words, He does all His works with His own infinite power.

Q: But we believe that God can do whatever He likes. There is no one
above Him.

A: What does He like? If you say that he likes and can do all things, we ask -“Can God kill Himself?” Or “can He make other Gods like Himself, become ignorant, commit sins such as theft, adultery and the like? Or can He be unhappy?” Your answer can only be in the negative, as these things are opposed to the nature and attributes of God; hence your contention, that God can do all things, does not hold good. Our meaning only, therefore, of the word All-powerful is true.

– Satyartha Prakash: Chapter 7, God and the Vedas

Thus God is Almighty and not enveloped in Absurdity like the mentally weak have always conceived.

His divine intelligent power is imbued in this entire creation and it penetrates it.

“And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and Allah has power over all things.”

– Qur’an 3:189

It doesn’t matter where you search for the Divine, everywhere on this Earth, the Divine has been perceived as a place of pure power.

A realm of inexhaustible creative energy that just endlessly drives this Universe forward.

Whether God’s name is uttered over a fire or within the mind through meditation or silently in supplication; whether you do it in English, Persian, Sanskrit, Greek, Arabic or Chinese does not matter.

For God in his Omnipotence understands Everything, even when you don’t speak with the tongue, He has a direct entrance into the depths of your heart.

He wants to share his Divine power with you, no matter who or where you are.

Ask en He will endlessly give, even to those by which He is never really perceived.

God is Almighty, He does not lack anything, because Everything is within Him.

Why would He not give endlessly?

What would He miss by giving YOU everything… literally nothing.

That is why throughout history we’ve seen the most evil and despicable people become powerful kings and wealthy elite people.

God gives and gives to whomever asks of Him. It is just like Jesus Christ said:

“So I tell you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? So if you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

– The Gospel of Matthew: Chapter 7, Verse 9-13
